I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Jefferson County, Florida Property Appraiser’s Web Site. As your Property Appraiser, I am responsible for placing a fair and equitable market value on every parcel of property both real estate and tangible in Jefferson County for the purpose of creating the annual ad valorem tax roll in accordance with applicable Florida Statutes.

While it is my duty to value property, the local taxing authorities are responsible for setting the tax rate/millage rate for all property, which results in the amount of taxes to be assessed. These local taxing authorities are the Board of County Commissioners, School Board, City Council and Water Management Districts.

In addition to valuing property, our office is responsible for maintenance of property ownership records and administration of exemptions (homestead, widow’s, widower’s, blind, disability, veteran’s and total exemptions).
